Date Night Ideas for Married Couples
I love Fall weather. The crisp mornings are my favorite, but I love the colors of the changing leaves, bonfires, sweaters and hot cocoa!
Who loves date nights? Me!!
Who doesn’t get them in as often as I’d like? Me!!
I asked some friends of mine what would be some good ideas for Fall Date Nights with their spouses. Here is what we came up with. Let me know if you have one to add to the list.
Fun Date Night Ideas for Couples
1. Visit a Pumpkin Patch.
Most pumpkin patches have some fun things to do such as a corn maze, petting zoo and more. You might get lucky and find one that has a pumpkin catapult. Check out this website for a Pumpkin Patch near you. http://pumpkinpatchesandmore.org
2. County Fair or Festival
Have some fun playing the games, winning a gold fish, eating funnel cakes and sitting real close together on the Ferris Wheel. Hold hands while walking and taking in the scene. Share a corndog and a drink.
Cuddle up together in front of a bonfire, talk, laugh and enjoy a s’more together. Spending time collecting sticks for the fire, laugh at how messy s’mores can be, and warm each other up by cuddling by the fire.
Enjoy the conversation and cuddle time with an evening hayride in the cool evening air. Count the stars and your blessings as you enjoy the night out together.
5. Nature Hike
Get some fresh air and enjoy the view on a nature hike or walk. Hold hands, bring a picnic and enjoy some hot cocoa. The view on a hike can be amazing!! Don’t forget your camera so you can capture the moment and view.
6. Visit the Zoo
It’s fun to bundle up in the cooler weather and walk hand in hand looking at all the Zoo animals. Enjoy each exhibit and the conversation with each other.
7. Picnic Outdoors
Find a nice spot in the woods, field or by the lake and enjoy some warm soup and a hot cup of tea or coffee together. Look up at the clouds and day dream. Talk about your future goals, hopes and dreams.
8. Horseback Riding
Find a stable that offers easy trails through the woods and enjoy the scenery together. Top it off with a picnic.
9. Pay it Forward
World Kindness Day usually falls in November. Do something together that is kind for someone else. Examples: work in a soup kitchen, deliver meals to shut ins, collect coats and take them to the nearest shelter, change the oil in a single moms vehicle.
10. Stay In
Make a picnic on the living room floor in front of the fire place or grab a movie and cuddle on the couch. Pop some popcorn and enjoy the evening indoors.
11. Star Gazing
Bundle up together, outside on a blanket, and watch the stars. See if you can recognize any of them by name. Enjoy some hot cocoa or tea.
12. Drive In Movie
Buy some popcorn and soda, recline your seats and enjoy a movie right in the privacy of your own car.
13. Flea Market
You might find some great deals at the flea market. Enjoy the nice weather by walking around, holding hands and shopping. Talk and explore together!
Rake the leaves in your yard together, play in them and rake them up again. Have a leaf throwing fight! Laugh together.
15. Target Practice
Go to your local indoor or outdoor firing range and shoot off a few rounds. Make it a fun competition to see who shoots at the bulls-eye.
If all else fails, put a movie on in the living room for the kids and have a date night in your bedroom. Don’t forget to lock the door. **hint hint.
Just being real, sometimes, it is hard to get away. And you need to make that connection time happen when and where you can.
Date nights are important in our marriages. We must let go of the day to day stresses in life and have fun together as often as we can.
